Presenting VGA's 'Wellbeing and Inclusion' Group!
We are extremely pleased to share news about our newly developed 'Wellbeing and Inclusion' group! Compromising of both professional staff and young leaders, the purpose of the group is to act as wellbeing and inclusion Champions across the organisation - organising themed events and supporting individuals and activities on an ongoing basis.
Some of the clubs's Young Leaders were selected onto the group following an application and interview process, and those selected will be part of the group for the next 12 months.
Our lead members have undertaken Public Health Wales (Integrated Wellbeing Network) 'community champion' training, as well as attending a range of other health, wellbeing and inclusion oriented workshops and training organised by local and national organisations (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, Dementia Friends training). Our Young Leaders have also undertaken a range of training through our partners, and are part of the VGA mentoring programme. Susan Jenkins is one of our club Welfare / Safeguarding Officers, and is also a trained Counsellor.
We are very much looking forward to the next 12 months, and we're very proud to be able provide this service across all levels of VGA!
