Successful Project Bids

We are delighted that our Outreach Team of officers has been successful in gaining funding and support for a number of wellbeing projects for the latter half of 2024/5.

We are excited to have obtained funding from the Welsh Assembly Government - via their Poverty and Innovation Grant - to put two ‘full time’ volunteers in place at VGA. These volunteers will work with one local school and undertake consultation in the community to help us to gain knowledge and insight around what helps families to be more healthy and active.

We are also working in partnership with the Gwent Community Psychology team which focuses on ‘creating a whole club approach to wellbeing.’ This project will run in Cwmbran Stadium and will be lead by two of our coaches, along with Dr Charles Cowtan and his team.

Given the clubs focus on community wellbeing, both projects will help us to develop our knowledge and capacity when working with our members and the community - something which is at heart of #TheVGAWay
